I had a rather stressful childhood, and a very stressful and eventful early adult life. So the other day, it was with some feeling of entitlement that I thought … my life is so low on stress these days. I have a steady job with decent pay, a good husband, a nice home, and two sons who are both making excellent progress in fashioning rewarding adult lives. I have terrific friends. I’ve gotten to travel, to try new experiences like writing, and with a little luck I still have a few years left before I have to go to a nursing home. I’m in a pretty good mood tonight. Maybe that’s why it seems like a good time to post something that I actually wrote a few months ago in a fit (not uncommon) of melancholy. The thing is, melancholy isn’t that bad, really. Sometimes, it hurts in sort of a good way
Dang, I looked at the dates and it’s been almost a week since my last post. I was sick, as previously noted, so I was taking some medicine for that. And I happened to run out of some medicine that I normally take. So my head has been a bit garbled. Tonight I was brimming over with things to write about, but logistical problems kept me from the computer.
As a diversion from my lack of actual productivity, I will resort to the common blogging tactic of recommending other people’s creative work that I think you should experience. That should distract you until I get something written again
